It happens relatively often that dogs and cats have blood or stones in the urine. Other evidence of diseases of the urinary tract includes, for instance, highly painful bladder emptying or excessive drinking followed by excessive urination (or the opposite). A urine sample is required in these cases to detect disease of the urinary and other organs and make the correct diagnosis.
