Muscle and nerve biopsies are valuable in peripheral nervous system diseases, offering additional information for veterinarians despite not always providing a conclusive diagnosis.

With diseases of the peripheral nervous system, taking a biopsy of muscle and sometimes of a nerve is often indicated. The biopsy rarely leads to a clear diagnosis but can provide the vet with further information about the condition.
