Bacteriological examination cats

  • Cat

Learn about diagnosing bacterial infections in cats through sample collection via sterile swabs or syringes. Testing in labs or on-site incubation is done for accurate results, especially when using different antibiotics under Veterinary Pharmacy Regulation.

To make a correct diagnosis when a bacterial infection is suspected, a sample by the cat is taken using a sterile swab or syringe. This is placed in a nutrient medium and sent to the appropriate laboratory for further diagnosis or incubated directly on site in some locations. When different antibiotics are used, it is obligatory to arrange bacterial tests under the Veterinary Pharmacy Regulation (TÄHAV).© AniCura
