Explore methods for diagnosing bacterial infections in dogs using sterile swabs or syringes. Labs or on-site incubation provide accurate results, important when using different antibiotics under Veterinary Pharmacy Regulation.

To make a correct diagnosis when a bacterial infection is suspected, a sample by the dog is taken using a sterile swab or syringe. This is placed in a nutrient medium and sent to the appropriate laboratory for further diagnosis or incubated directly on site in some locations. When different antibiotics are used, it is obligatory to arrange bacterial tests under the Veterinary Pharmacy Regulation (TÄHAV).© AniCura
